19.3.2020- The University of Coimbra (UC) hosts in November 2020 the ceremony of the World Cultural Council. 

 

The World Cultural Council is an international non-profit organization founded in Mexico in 1982 by a group of 124 scientists, academics, university presidents and executives from five continents, which aims to promote a culture of tolerance, peace and brotherhood.  

 

This is the first time the event has taken place in Portugal, having hosted institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University or Princeton University.  

 

Portugal had already been "on the map" of the organization for a long time, and now the opportunity has arisen, finding availability from the University of Coimbra to be the host.  

 

In Coimbra, the Albert Einstein World Science Prize (awarded annuallyand the José Vasconcelos World Education Prize (awarded every two yearsinterspersed with the Leonardo da Vinci World Arts Prizewill be awarded
