15.9.2022- In the academic year 2022/2023 starts with 2 153 mobility students coming to the University of Coimbra - our partner. An increase of 29% compared to last academic year. 

The dean Amílcar Falcão revealed that, at the moment, the number of international students at the University of Coimbra (UC) is higher, compared to years before the pandemic. More precisely, there are 2,153 mobility students, which reflects an increase of 29% compared to the 2019/2020 academic year. 

Also in his closing speech, Amílcar Falcão mentioned the University of Coimbra as inclusive and tolerant since it hosts students from about 120 different nationalities. 

The vice-rector of the UC, João Nuno Calvão da Silva, later explained to journalists that this high number is due to the work developed during the two years of the pandemic. "We, unlike many universities, decided to avoid closing doors and continue to receive mobility students."
