Tourism Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra is a botanical and herbarium garden with 13.5 hectare, inaugurated in 1772. The Botanical Garden is located next to the Department of Life Sciences of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, in the Calçada Martim de Freitas next to the Aqueduct of S. Is one of the most important museums of Fine Arts in Portugal. It was named after the outstanding sculptor Machado de Castro. Tourism Mosteiro de Santa Clara-a-Velha

The Mosteiro de Santa Clara-a-Velha, popularly known as the Convento de Santa Clara-a-Velha, is situated on the left side of the Mondego river, leading to its abandonment in 1677 due to the recurrent floods of the river. During the restoration works, Gothic architectural structures were found in a good condition, revealing a vast, varied and very rich collection, being classified as a National Monument in 1910.

Tourism University of Coimbra

Not being only an educational establishment, the University of Coimbra is also classified as World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It is one of the oldest universities in the world still receiving students, being the oldest and one of the largest in the country, having been inaugurated on 1st March 1290.
